Last week, my friend and I visited Art House Cafe in the early evening. We’d wanted to try it for quite some time but had conflicting schedules. We finally made time on an unassuming Wednesday evening; and boy was it time for girl talk, lounging, and good coffee. I avoided Art House Cafe #inAbuDhabi for a while because I thought it would be hard to find. As I’ve mentioned before, there are no addresses in Abu Dhabi.
Based on Google Maps, it was pretty easy to find and I arrived without honking my horn too many times. Art House Cafe is nestled between Al Bateen and Al Khaleej Al Arabi across from NBAD and Al Bateen “Mall”. Parking is decent, if not, park in the “mall’s” parking across the street.
The look of the cafe is exceptional. The brilliant use of recycled materials mixed with a eclectic presence makes lounging here fun.
The hot chocolate and other coffees were great as with the service.
BUT STOP THERE.
Well, not completely stop. The calamari and fries were quite tasty…
Now you can STOP!
The burger and spinach quiche was pretty terrible. The consistency of the burger was that of a veggie burger or bean pie. It was minced too fine which made for a gooey center, crisp edges and with minimal flavor.
The same with the spinach quiche. Quiche should have a bit of firmness but this shaky goo left a lot to be desired.
Art House Cafe is recommended, with limitations, for casual experiences with friends and great cups of coffee.
Save your money and skip the food.
