Hotel Review: Fraser Place, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

By February 17, 2015April 20th, 2017Travel + Culture

When heading off for vacation, would-be travelers want nothing more than to find good digs upon arrival. Lodging is one of the highlights of travel and scoring a great spot is essential.

Late last year I became hipped to hotel or serviced apartments. Hotel or serviced apartments are essentially apartments used for longer stays or stays in which travelers needs more space. For me, when traveling with colleagues, hotel apartments are the way to go because the separate rooms provide the privacy that I desire after a day out touring the city.

A recent holiday trip to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia was just what the doctor ordered. It was filled with a balance of sun and rain coupled with modern accommodations provided by Fraser Apartments.

Fraser Place is located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur’s City Centre. It’s about a 10 minute walk to the gorgeous Petronas Towers and steps away from restaurants, public transportation, and visitor’s kiosk. Fraser Place is approximately 45 minutes away from Kuala Lumpur International Airport.

Stellar customer service began upon arrival. Our private car was greeted by the conciergeĀ and we were takenĀ to guest services. We had a small wait in guest services and during that time engaged in a self tour around the lobby.

The lobby was modern and sleek with touches of southeast Asian charm. The hue of green was vibrant and inviting as with the multi-colored striped seating. When it was our turn, the guest services representatives were efficient and warm. The check in process took no longer than 10 minutes.

Thereafter we took the elevator up to the 21st floor, where our 1 bedroom flat awaited us.

We were greeted by a bright, air lounge area with an adjacent kitchen. The kitchen was outfitted with just enough amenities to make our stay comfortable. There was a coffee pot, tea maker, toaster, two-burner cooker, sink, daily water, and a refrigerator. We didn’t use the kitchen as much as we wanted because there were so many inexpensive food options. However, the cutlery as well as cooking essentials were available.

The lounge space, pictured above, also came with a flat screen TV with a ton of channel options, and other entertainment gadgets.

The bedroom was exceptionally spacious. Though my picture taking skills were definitely lacking that day, the room also had a huge 1 seater (oversized chair as we Americans call them), desk, entertainment, closet, and in-suite area. The in-suite included a huge soaking tub, dressing area, stand alone shower, and toiletries.

The detailing within the apartment made the stay comfortable, particularly the plush mattress.

The outdoor areas were superb as well. There were tons of amenities; pool, sauna, exercise facilities, green spaces, and viewing balconies.

The most telling was the great upkeep of the establishment and moderate pricing.

Without hesitation, Fraser Place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia comes highly recommended.
