When you want a home cooked meal but don’t feel like cooking at home, Matthew’s Cafeteria in Tucker, GA is your spot.
Matthew’s Cafeteria has been a major part of the Tucker Community since 1955. Its history of serving southern meals anchored in “mom’s love” spans over 60 sixty years and rightfully so.
There’s no day of the week that Matthew’s isn’t filled with patrons yearning for a hearty meal that usually found on their own dinner tables. With an extensive offering of fixings such as fried chicken, dressing, roast beef, and BBQ, vast cravings can be satisfied with any selection.
When I cruised through Atlanta in mid-July, I knew that I had to take a quick drive out to Matthew’s for familiar flavors that were guaranteed to leave me satisfied.
During my first tour of life in Atlanta, I trekked through Tucker often.
Since my BFF was with me during this trip and hadn’t ever had the experience of dining at Matthews, it was only fair to share all of its greatness with him.
So off we went.
And boy did we enjoy it.
He ordered chicken livers with black-eyed peas, greens, corn muffins, lemon pie, and tea.
I ordered meatloaf with gravy, dressing, green beans, and cheesy hash casserole.
…and a few bites of the lemon pie my BFF ordered
I believe we ate it all.
Like all of it.
Because it’s good, like always good, and everyone else in Tucker and surrounding areas love it too.
So if you want home cooking and you’re in this part of “Atlanta” stop by, you won’t be disappointed.
