Because diversity in great food is plentiful in Abu Dhabi, my mom and I set our digs on something new, Turkish Cuisine.
I’d had my heart set on Turkish Cuisine for quite some time, but never made the time to head to Al Wadha Mall where I’d eyed Kosebasi for months. Kosebasi is the stylish, casual dining, Turkish Restaurant located in the extension of Al Wadha Mall. It’s a nice decorated and sizable restaurant good for families, couples, or singles.
As you can see, we landed during a time that wasn’t quite busy, purposefully, so we had a choice of seating. We chose one of the cosy both areas because I had a feeling that we’d be in for the long haul.
Service was immediate. The waiter came to take our drink orders and introduced us to the Turkish Culinary delights before us. He had trays full of bite sized appetizers and he explained each intimately as we were unfamiliar with the selections. Of course, I had hummus. I hadn’t had hummus in a while so I indulged. My mom has a gorgeous dish called Pembe Sultan. It was a bright pink color and exceptional smooth. I somewhat expected it to have a strong pungent taste but the beetroot wasn’t over powering at all.
We enjoyed the appetizers and seasoned dressing with the abundance of assorted bread offerings.
If I can be completely honest, chile we were so full at this point. But, and there’s always a but, we wouldn’t dare come all the way to this delightful Turkish spot and not have a full meal.
Soon after, we had mushroom soup, traditional Turkish Pizza, and Mixed Grill with chicken, lamb, flavored bulgar, and roasted vegetables.
Here’s the kicker of all things, the waiter asked if we wanted dessert.
Ooh we, chile no.
We did have a bit to take back for later. It’s even better the next day.
Kosebasi is a moderately priced chain restaurant, with good service, and food that makes the traffic in front of Al Wadha Mall just a nuance.
